Last week, the team of the Medical Air Service organised transport for a patient who was being relocated to his home country Wales. Given that the patient was in very critical condition, the transfer was only able to take place under medical supervision in an ambulance jet equipped for intensive care.
Following an in-depth medical clarification of the patient’s condition and a consultation among doctors, we provided a suitable aircraft in Nuremberg, which transported the patient to Cardiff only a few hours after the transfer request had been made. Of course we also arranged ground ambulances in both cities to ensure a patient-friendly transfer. Upon arrival at the clinic in Wales, the patient’s family expressed their gratitude for what had been a seamless process.
